FIELD TRIPS
Field trips and nature walks are considered an important part of the educational program and will be taken periodically to nearby places. The daycare will provide the same adequate responsible adult supervision for these excursions as I provide children while in attendance at the daycare. Your permission for your child to participate in such excursions is part of this agreement.
TUITION AND FEES
The tuition for our infant care: (This tuition will be reduced when your child has his/her 1st birthday)
Daycare tuition for children 1 to 12 year old
You are responsible for the tuition each week and there is no reduction of tuition for absence except for extended illness. An additional hourly fee of $9 per hour for infants and $8 per hour for older children will be charged after 10 hours of care. Unless prearrangement for care has been made.
All tuition is due the MORNING of the first day of attendance for each week. If your child attends on Monday, tuition is due upon arrival on Monday morning or the first day of the week your child attends. Any tuition or fees left unpaid will have a late charge of $25 per day added. Chronic late payment will result in your child being withdrawn from the program. Remember, my staff expects to be paid just as you expect your employer to pay you. Your non-payment makes this impossible.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Before and after school care is $7 per session or $12 for both before and after school care. Days must be scheduled and you are responsible for those sessions that you schedule for. These fees are also payable on the last day of attendance or on Friday morning.
Also on half school days if the child is in my care less than 5 hours the fee is $12 for that day. Should school get out or is closed for 5 or more hours than the fee $23 for that day.
SUMMER SESSION
The same tuition applies for summer as for the rest of the year. There is no reduction of tuition for days missed. Both pre-school and school-age children will use the same pay schedule.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
Your child’s health is a matter of major importance to all of us. Adherence to the following health rules will contribute to the assurance of a healthy, successful school year:
MEDICATION
Please, hand prescription medication that is to be given to your child to the person in charge, with instructions to put it in the refrigerator or in the medicine cabinet. The parent should then fill out the necessary information concerning dosage. There is a sheet on the bulletin board for this purpose. Non-prescription medicines may be administered in accordance with the package instructions. ***Note you may want a doctor’s note on file stating they many have Tylenol or Ibuprofen as needed***
REST TIME
Each child registered for all-daycare will have the advantage of an afternoon rest period each day. The children will rest for one to two hours depending on the age of the child. Children will be moved to a different area and provided with a quiet activity if they normally take short naps.
TOILET TRAINING
Toilet training will be done in a relaxed manner with the
cooperation of the family. If potty training is begun when your child is ready,
the task is easy and quick. If a parent undertakes the task of potty training
when they want it to happen, the task is arduous and painful for all concerned.
Thirty months of age is a good rule of thumb to start checking for signs of
readiness. When we agree that the time is right for your child and until he/she
is totally successful in his/her toileting, he/she should wear clothes that
promote their independence. In addition, your child must have two complete
changes of clothes (don't forget the socks!) The best items are shorts and
pants with elastic waists, or dresses. Try to avoid really tight clothing,
pants with snaps and zippers and belts, overalls, and onesies. These are
difficult for children to remove "in a hurry". Do not bring your
child in panties or underwear until he/she has naptime control
established.
I ask that you begin toilet training at home during a weekend or vacation. I will follow through and encourage your child while in my care. When a child is ready, the process should go pretty quickly. If your child does not have immediate success, he/she will be put back into diapers, and after a respite, the process will be attempted again. The child must be kept in pull-ups or 5-ply training pants at all times. Putting a child in diapers part time, and training pants part time, can be confusing and delay the training process. Please keep in mind that the activity level here can distract your child from responding to an urge to use the potty, more so than at your home. Therefore, I will continue to use diapers or pull-ups until your child can and will announce that he/she must use the bathroom (not just at home, but here, as well) and can control his/her bladder and bowels for a few minutes beyond that announcement.
Your child's readiness is something we can discuss because consistency between our homes will be very important. This is a special time for your child, a sign that he/she is growing up. Toilet training should be a good experience.
TOYS AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Toys that are supplied by the daycare are selected carefully to bring about timely development for your child. In order that a child may not be disappointed with a broken or lost toy, we ask that your child leave their toys at home.
On occasion we will hold announced show and tell day in which your child will be allowed to bring an item to share at circle time. A note will be sent home in advance so that all children can participate. Please remember your child will be sharing this item with all the children and needs to be child proof.
WITHDRAWALS
Parents may withdraw a child from the program at any time. A TWO-WEEK NOTICE IS REQUIRED. Parents wishing to withdraw their child, but fail to provide a two-week notice, will still be liable for the last week’s tuition.
